Phil Gill defeats Jason Nesbitt in his 10th Professional Fight.

Waltham Abbey's boxer Phil Gill was in cracking form on Saturday night at Bethnal Green's York Hall.
Gill coming to the ring with 8 wins and 1 draw, took on the Birmingham fighter Jason Nesbitt, sporting a 135 fight history.

Straight from the off,Gill led with smashing left, left, right combinations which Nesbitt defended well but was really under pressure at times, from Gill's punches and speed of delivery. Nesbitt midway through the first delivered two powerful right-hand bodyshots to Gill which he recovered from pretty quickly. Gill upped the pace with some great attempts at uppercuts in the closing seconds of the first round.

Again throughout the second and third rounds Gill kept up the left-right shots to Nesbitt's head, again he covered up well but the balance was definitely tipping in the Waltham Abbey boxers favour. In the closing 30 seconds of both rounds Gill was all over his opponent and Nesbitt found it hard to get a shot back or threw a lot of leather, most of it into thin air, but little of it caused Gill any worries at all.

The fourth round really was electric with Gills fans cheering on the local boy and Gill definitely delivered, the momentu and pace was superb with a change to a left-left-right combo been used for his shots throughout.
again Nesbitt was at a disadvantage to Gill's speed and "keep him busy" pace. Nesbitt did return some good shots midway through the fourth but again, Gill brushed them off with ease. There was a couple of head shots from Nesbitt which looked nasty but were more noise than effect as Gill brushed them off to win his tenth contest in a close but comfortable 39-37 score.
