Gemma started playing tennis at the age of six and has continued to train and play competitively alongside her education. During this time Gemma has won a series of amateur and junior level tournaments, including the U18 Girls Singles Derbyshire Closed and U21 Girls Singles Torbay Open. She has represented Derbyshire in all age groups since the age of 12 and now plays for the senior team. Gemma has now completed her A levels and has chosen to take a gap year in order to pursue a professional tennis career and gain a world ranking on the ITF professional circuit. She trains five hours a day will the help of NRG Fuel Products which lengthen the time she can spend training and aid in her daily recovery routine.

 Representing Derbyshire Tennis teams consistently U14, U18 and in the Senior Ladies Team (2002-2010)
Captained the School Tennis Team at National Championships placing 9th and 8th (2009-2010)
National Ranking 103 (2010)
Central Plain Regional Tournament, Thailand U18 Semi-finalist (2007)

U18 Girls Singles Champion Derbyshire Closed (2009)
